Windows XP problem with wireless network, router restart
After I got the Mac in the house I´ve looked more into a problem I´ve had for a long time with my PC laptop: I have a to restart the router almost every time I reboot to get the PC on the (wireless) network. I have thought that this was problems with the router or the modem or the USB-receiver but since the Mac runs smoothly on the net all the time, my new theory is that this has to do with Windows XP. I found some reports via Google supporting the theory and some saying that this wasn´t a problem before Service Pack 2 arrived. After checking with 4-5 friends it appears that all of them (PC-users) have the same problem. Some has to restart all the time, others once a week or less. Any comments with other experiences/knowledge will be appreciated.

Can't say I've come across this before... Running 3 winxp sp2 computers, 2 of them on wireless here using a Belkin accesspoint. But perhaps is somewhat connected to the make of accesspoint / wireless router you use.
I´m using Dlink DI624+ from www.dlink.com
I'm using a Belking wireless router and a macintosh and XP laptop. I have to reboot my access point almost everytime I reboot either laptop.
I finally figured out the solution here: throw all products from d-link in the trash and replace them with something else. I use Linksys. It works.
i was having this problem with a linksys wrt54g running DD-WRT. I changed the preamble on the access point from LONG to SHORT and the problem disappeared. Also I was having the same isue on my macbook--which was resolved with the same fix.
